The Victoria & Albert Museum is the largest art and design museum in the world, with collections unmatched in scope and diversity. The museum displays artifacts such as ceramics, furniture, fashion items, glass, jewelry, metal objects, photographs, sculptures, textiles and paintings from the richest cultures in the world over a span of over 3000 years.
Not to be missed are the marvelous British Galleries 1500-1900, where exceptional specimens from the Victoria & Albert Museum collections are integrated to tell the story of 400 years of British art and design. You can also visit the museum’s national photographic collection.
As part of an important renovation project, a series of new galleries have been inaugurated, such as those dedicated to architecture, painting, sculpture and Islam. In addition to the permanent exhibitions, a rich program of performances, exhibitions, activities and events is set up.
The Victoria & Albert Museum of Childhood is located in Bethnal Green. Admission is free.
