City Splash Brixton
The bank holiday on May 29 sees Brockwell Park in south London transformed into London’s biggest festival of African and Caribbean music, food and culture: City Splash. When we say big, we’re talking seven stages and more than 60 performers including major reggae, dancehall and afrobeats artists. On the line-up, you’ve got Jamaica’s own Chronixx, who rose to fame through collaborations with Major Lazer and Joey Bada$$ as well as his own summer-ready reggae tunes. You’ve also got rising Jamaican pop artist Koffee, dancehall superstar Shenseea and the rapper and dancehall fixture Skillibeng. The artistry extends to over 60 food stands too, bringing a Carnival vibe to SE24.
It’s City Splash’s third year and it’s on a mission to highlight the huge impact of Caribbean and African music and food on British culture, and doing it by appealing to all our senses including our taste buds. If that doesn’t get you hungry for more, here’s our pick of five of the best food stands at City Splash curated by Black Eats LDN.
